Semester 2, 2020 Program

Posted by Douglas Arts on Wednesday, July 8, 2020
The new program for Semester 2, 2020 is now available - find the link on this page.  We have lots of exciting classes, courses and workshops on offer.

You will be pleased to hear that DAB has obtained funding to hold a weekend sculpture workshop on the 15 & 16 August this year, through the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF).

RADF is a partnership between Queensland Government  and Douglas Shire Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.

PAVERPOL is a fabric hardening agent, used to create small waterproof sculptures, ideal for your garden or public sculptures.  The first day will be an introduction, using kits provided by the tutor, learning step by step, understanding the product and producing a small sculpture. The second day will expand on day 1, experimenting with individual sculptural choices, including working with recycled materials.

The tutor is Rosemary Mare-Williams, an accredited Paverpol Workshop trainer.  She has held Paverpol workshops in many places in Australia and New Zealand. A few examples of her work can be viewed at DAB Gallery.

More examples of Paverpol can also be found at: www.paverpolaustralia.com.au/gallery

We are keen to get expressions of interest for the workshop as soon as possible.  We need to have a clear idea of numbers for the workshop so we can ensure we have sufficient Paverpol and prepared kits.  If you are interested in attending please enrol by no later than the 25th July 2020.
