FELTING - Art feature for November

Come into DAB Studio Gallery to see the display of student work made from the beginners' felt classes, taught by Marg Lynn. Some beautiful work has been created, so come and see what you could do next year. We plan to be running a monthly felting group in 2017, and Marg Lynn will be offering more courses.

Learn skills and techniques involved in creating beautiful felts for clothing, accessories and art.
1st August for five weeks 9.30 am to 12.30 pm
Cost $110. Some materials provided.

GLASS SLUMPING & FUSING WITH LEANNE EMMITT
Complete stunning projects with hot melted glass.
Saturday 27th August. 9.30 - 4.30 pm
Cost for full day $90, Cost for half day $50.

Egyptian Paste Jewellery - with Liz Showniruk.  Tuesday 3rd May from 9.30 - 12.30 pm $35.  Brilliant blue and green beads made using techniques from ancient Egypt.

Glass Fusing - with Leanne Emmitt on Saturday 7th May and Sunday 7th May from 10 am to 4 pm each day. $80 each day.  Glass fusing and slumping to create jewellery, tableware, artworks and more.  (only 6 places available for each day)

A weekend of workshops coming up - Mosaics and Basketweaving

Richard Mustchin is conducting a basketweaving workshop on Saturday 5th December. Richard has had extensive experience in basketweaving including: Cocos Beachbags made from Coconut Frond, Standard & Hanging Rattan Planters; Utility Baskets, coloured milled rattan miniatures. Everybody is invited to attend the opening night of “Receptacles”, DAB’s next autumn/Easter exhibition, on Thursday 2nd April at 6.30 in Mill St, Mossman.

Creations from the Mosaic TREE JEWELL workshop

DAB Textile Exhibition

The textile art exhibition is now on display in the Douglas Shire Council foyer. The exhibition is a culmination of a ten week experimental textile course run through DAB with a grant from Regional Arts Australia and Artslink Queensland.

Semester 2 Program Guide is AVAILABLE

DAB has received funding from the Regional Arts Fund to hold a 10 week workshop in Textile Arts with professional textile artist Debbie Rasmussen. The fabulous creations made during this course will be displayed in an exhibition at the Mossman Council Chambers in October.
