Invitation to Receptacles Exhibition

Everybody is invited to attend the opening night of “Receptacles”, DAB’s next autumn/Easter exhibition, on Thursday 2nd April at 6.30 in Mill St, Mossman.

Come and see how DAB artists have interpreted the theme ‘Receptacles’.

Exhibition time: daily (except Sun) 10 am to 2 pm from Sat 4 April to Sat 18 April 2015.

Mosaics, pottery, prints, textile art, paintings, basketweaving.

DAB Tutor wins major award

Congratulations to Sam Matthews - Winner of the Cairns Regional Council $3,000 prize at the 2014 - BIENNIAL NATIONAL CERAMICS EXHIBITION at the Cairns Regional Gallery. Sam is standing next to her entry, a set of wind chimes. Sam said: 'I was quite overwhelmed. I've only been doing pottery for 6 months!'.

Two other DAB tutors, Ellen Terrell and Liz Showniruk also won minor awards at the exhibition, so DAB was well presented.
