DAB’s Feature Wall - ‘Artistic Endeavour’

On now until end of April

Six of DAB’s very talented botanical artists were privileged to be selected to exhibit in ‘Artistic Endeavour’ an initiative of the Botanical Artists Society of Queensland (BASQ) in partnership with Museums and Galleries Queensland.  The exhibition travelled to selected regional galleries in QLD and northern NSW during 2021 and 2022 marking the 250th anniversary of Captain James Cook’s voyage on the HMB Endeavour and the legacy of Banks, Solander and Parkinson.

The DAB artists who participated in the exhibition were – Sandra Ford, Jennifer Foster-Hamilton, Colin Price, Inger Rowe, Liz Showniruk and Ellen Terrell.

The botanical artworks by these artists from the exhibition, are now on display in DAB’s gallery until the end of April.

About BASA (Botanical Art Society of Australia) – BASA is a non-profit organisation which aims to foster and promote the development of botanical art nationwide and to bring together people who have a love of plants and of the botanical art form.  The Society’s objectives include – pursue excellence in botanical painting and Botanical Art; stimulate interest in plants, conservation, horticulture and the environment through Botanical Art; and promote and protect Australia’s extraordinary rich diversity of plant life by all reasonable social and other appropriate means.
