This course exposes students to a variety of techniques used to alter and manipulate fabrics. If you want to find out how to push the boundaries with what you can achieve with textiles then this is for you.
If you are a beginner, then this is an exciting place to start. We will be altering the face of fabric through such means as dyeing, painting, printing, foiling, burning, melting, stitching and embellishing.
Students will create a number of samples which can then be used to make a larger project such as an art quilt, a bag, a book, or even a three dimensional art object.
Some principles of art design will be taught so that the samples created can result in a pleasing and unified composition.
